I just wanted to share the launch of Dorset Moonshine, a book I’ve contributed a piece to, particularly for those of you who enjoy a good cocktail.
Or two.
The book was created by Dorset based photographer, Richard Budd. I love the fact that the stories developed quite organically, with one bartender recommending the next. It all started with Lloyd Brown, brand ambassador for Liberty Fields Vodka, and went from there.
As a drinking guide to Dorset’s very best, Dorset Moonshine shows off the county’s best talent in mixology as well as the drinks they create from the spirits of some of the county’s best drinks producers. Whether you want to drink at home or create a fabulous bar crawl, this book could be for you.
I’d like to thank Andy Woodfield at Lilliput Gin for recommending me to Richard, and to Richard for giving me the opportunity. He gave me free rein to suggest an angle to fit in with the book, gave good feedback and kept me up to date with progress on publication.
If you’re out and about in Dorset then you’ll find Dorset Moonshine in good bars, restaurants and hotels. I know for a fact that the Anchor Inn at Seatown had their delivery on Wednesday. If you’re not going to be around any time soon, then it’s also available as an ebook here. The photography is stunning, and there are some pretty amazing cocktail recipes in there too.
It’s a great example of local businesses working together to build better businesses for each other. And to that concept, I say cheers!
